Private Orders Closed

Saturday, September 5, 2015

Hi ladies! Last post today, I promise! :) Private orders are officially closed. I want to focus on new painting techniques in 2016. Like I have explained before, inventing new techniques involves extensive experimenting so I will have quite a few tester kits for sale over the next few months. I find it better to test in stages. Follow me on Facebook for the most up-to-date information regarding these partially painted kits. :)

Farewell to Julietta

Wednesday, April 1, 2015

Hi all! I shipped the little one off today, thank goodness. She sat around in a cabinet half finished for months until my hand healed. :( She's traveling to Germany to a fellow reborner named Alexa. I have not shipped a doll to Germany in years-- wait-- yes I have! I shipped Natalia to Germany last year. I can't believe I forgot about that. I loved Natalia! ♥ I am nervous about customs but I guess I shouldn't be. I just don't want customs to open the box and mess with Julietta's hair, lol! Sounds picky, but I like the hair to stay nice and neat during travel. I anchor the dolls to an interior box now so the hair stays in place.

I heard Julietta's mom will do a box opening video on Facebook. I love box openings! I am planning to have a front row seat. :) I'll also post the box packing pictures here. I still haven't posted Thomas' box packing, have I? I have a little bit of time while Kyra Legler is in the oven, yippee! Stay tuned.

Julietta arrived to Germany! Take a look at the box opening video on Facebook. Thanks so much, Alexa, for recording this video. Your kids are adorable! I am so glad the candy made them happy, lol! :):) I love your coloring and hair choices for Julietta. ♥ Enjoy!

Hi everyone! I am posting these instructions again in case anyone missed them. Here are reference photos for the Toffee Topia skin tone. Click the images to see enlarged versions. I will not be selling a coloring guide for the Toffee Topia skin tone because like I said before, the colors are the same as Apricot Love-A-Lot. The instructions below will help you achieve the darker tan coloring.

Honeybee Myxx is also a deep tan shade but it is more saturated and reddish than Toffee Topia. This is due to the presence of the reddish brown color used for the paint mixtures. Toffee Topia is based on a yellowish brown and is therefore less intense at a glance.

Which skin tone do I prefer? Both skin tones have their place in the doll market, I'd say, which is why I never bothered to replace Toffee Topia with Honeybee Myxx. I'd use Toffee Topia for sleeping newborns and Honeybee Myxx for awake and seemingly older newborns.

How To Paint the Toffee Topia Skin Tone

1. Toffee Topia is a slightly darker tan shade of Apricot Love-A-Lot. Use the Apricot Love-A-Lot coloring guide.
2. Complete Prep & Neapolitan Chiaroscuro.
3. Open your Depth & Details tutorial. Complete the first part of flesh stacking (transitions).
4. Add a thin base layer wash.
5. Make adjustments to the Neapolitan Chiaroscuro. The wash will dull your Neapolitan Chiaroscuro. I always paint three extra layers.
6. When you start the second part of flesh stacking (the mosaic pattern), use the same colors listed BUT for the purple color, do not use Dioxazine Purple 02. Mix a new purple color using Pyrrole Red 02 and Ultramarine Blue (1:1).

Yes, the rumors are true! I wanted to surprise everyone, but since the cat is out of the bag, I am working on three new skin tones.

Cherry Cheeks-  A light Asian skin tone for older babies.
Tinkerblush-  A Caucasian newborn skin tone that will feature many coloring variations.
Vanilla Truffle- A milky biracial/AA/ethnic newborn skin tone.

I will have samples of these skin tones soon. ♥

Julietta Finally Rooted *SOLD*

Saturday, March 21, 2015

Hola amigos! I finally finished rooting my dear Julietta. She has a head full of brown curls that I will reveal during her final photo shoot. Teaser time! :) She needs a second phase of painting and I am sure it will only take a couple of hours. I want to do her photo shoot this coming Wednesday. I need to purchase a gown for her. Dillards has some of the prettiest gowns, but I think I will go with Biscotti or Wendy Bellisimo since I can purchase these brands from a local boutique. Ideally, I'd like a gown with a tulle hem because Julietta looks like a fancy baby girl...more like royalty! What a perfect face sculpt! :) I will update this post soon with a final shoot.

1. Toffee Topia is a slightly darker tan shade of Apricot Love-A-Lot. Use the Apricot Love-A-Lot coloring guide.

Toffee Topia Julietta in Progress

Thursday, January 22, 2015

Hola amigos! This picture is from a couple of days ago. I erased Julietta's eyebrows. They came out too black and I need them to be brown. This baby will have brown curls per her mommy's request. I just love the lips on this sculpt! I am so thrilled that I get to paint an Apricot Love-A-Lot Julietta this summer for a private order. I also have a Julietta kit for myself that I am saving. I am working on a new skin tone called "Vanilla Truffle" and I would like my Julietta to be painted in Vanilla Truffle. I hope to have this Toffee Topia Julietta rooted and out of the door soon. I have to get those eyebrows on first! :) She is a bit lighter than this picture shows. I had to take her picture in my kitchen as there is no sunlight today.

Someone asked about the Toffee Topia coloring guide and I don't have one available yet. For Toffee Topia, I use the same colors I use for Apricot Love-A-Lot... BUT I make two tiny adjustments during the Flesh Stacking phase to achieve the slightly darker tan coloring. I'll discuss that later, I pinky promise... I have a layaway baby (Saige Avaleigh) to send home today, yay! :) Stay tuned ladies! Kyra Legler wants to say hello this weekend. :)

Hi everyone! My little bundle of brown sugar is on eBay! This photo shoot took a super long time because I had major troubles with my camera. I think after three years of *love* aka wear and tear, my camera is finally tired of me, lol! I can't wait to check out some of the new cameras available for sale! I think I'll go with Nikon this time around. I just adore their lenses. Anywhoo, back to the baby! haha Click the picture to visit her listing.

Camellia Christian In Progress *SOLD*

Monday, April 14, 2014

Hi everyone! I would like to introduce Camellia Christian. Her first name is pronounced cah-MELL-yah, and her middle name is just plain old KRISS-chin. :) Camellia is based on the Romeo sculpt by Natali Blick.

I love how she turned out! As you can see from the before and after photo, the Romeo kit is ultra-realistic and offers a stern expression fit for the perfect baby boy. I wanted to make a little girl, so I decided to play with my darker paint colors and shading preferences to create a more feminine face with pleading eyes. :) I have decided to keep the side glancing eyes for Camellia as they make her seem more babyish and vulnerable. I just can't stop saying "awwwwww" when I look at her, lol!

Camellia is available for adoption. I have the back of her head rooted and I would like to ship her out by the end of the week to a new mommy. I am asking $2500 for her adoption fee. She has 3/4 limbs and is 20" long. She will have medium-thick black curls and rooted eyelashes. She will come with the standard 'Baby Shower in a Box'. email: brookenicole222 @ yahoo . com

I really want this outfit for Camellia!  It is made by the designer 'Little Me'.  I don't know why, but mint and lavender are the perfect colors for the Cinnamon Charm Summer skin tone.  The real baby looks great wearing it!  What a cutie!

Stephania's Box Packing

Wednesday, August 8, 2012

I had so much fun packing Stephania. Since her new mama has seen (and loves) everything, I can post pictures of the box packing. :)  Ugh, I always forget to pack the coupons-- but every repeat customer receives a 10% discount on future purchases. :) No expiration date!

Stephania's Listing Ended Early

Tuesday, July 31, 2012

Hi everyone! Steffi has been sold. Her new mom clicked the 'Buy It Now'. The transaction was completed directly through Paypal due to a technical problem through eBay. Thank you for all of your bids and continued support. I will have another baby listed at the end of August. ♥

Cabbage Patch Not Included. LOL!

My 6 year-old daughter Emme Jae wanted me to post a picture of her baby posed with Steffi. Emme would like to inform readers that her baby is not for sale, hehe. ♥

Stephania Jacinta on eBay - *SOLD*

Sneeky Peeky of Steffi - *SOLD*

Thursday, July 26, 2012

Hi ladies! Here is a sneek peek of Steffi! I am not trying to be suspenseful...I promise, lol!  :)  I don't have pictures of her entire face yet because her eye glaze is drying. ;)  She currently looks like she has an eye infection...eeeew.  I didn't think anyone would wanna see that, haha. :)

Steffi is soooooooooo lovely! The Elise sculpt has a slightly mature look that I played up with my Cinnamon Charm Summer skin tone, flirty side glancing eyes, smocked apparel, lacy anklets, and little pigtails. She is a big girl who fits 0-3 months perfectly!  Her hands and feet are amazingly realistic.  Natali Blick is definitely on my list of favorite sculptors now.  Steffi is my first Blick kit and wow, I am totally HOOKED! TDF!  Thank you, Natali!!!

Anyway, Steffi will be listed the second her eye glaze dries.  That stuff takes forever to dry, but it is well worth it! :)  I'll post the link to the auction here of course.  Stay tuned! :) :)
