Angelina is sold. Her new mommy wants me to finish her in July, so she is stuck with me until then, lol! Her happy face melts me. The cloudy light was calling my name today for some reason and I decided to take some pictures. I actually really like these cloudy pics! I think I liked Tate's cloudy pics too. I brought them as close to the window as I possibly could and I'm loving it. I can't wait to see Angelina with her thick black hair and dark eyes. Click the link to see these photos larger. These blue eyes are different from the eyes Angelina wore in her first photo shoot. These are 24mm polyglass 'Baby Blue' by Eyeco. The first pair are 22mm 'True Blue' by Bountiful Baby. :)

Mmmkay, so Angelina is all set for eyebrows now and ready to find a new mom! I told ya she needed more layers. See how much nicer she looks? :)

For those of you who have my tutorials, what I just demonstrated with Angelina is the adjustments section-- the final section of the Depth & Details Tutorial. After Flesh Stacking, take progress pictures, study them, and if you feel your baby lacks depth, make those adjustments! :) Angelina needed seven extra layers of paint. I don't why she needed so many, maybe because of her open mouth and deep set eyes? I dunno, but anywhoo, don't skimp, make those adjustments, ladies! :) I know it can be a pain when a doll needs adjustments...^-^

Eyebrow painting for Angelina is an extra $75. These are not her permanent eyes. They are just an old pair of eyes I use while painting, but I think Angelina looks so exotic and cute with blue eyes!

Hiya ladies! Please meet Sasha Monroe. She is based on the Kylie sculpt by Romie Strydom. She started out as Apricot Love-A-Lot but I found a Naartjie outfit I wanted to buy for her and I thought the Cacao Silk skin tone would really flatter the outfit. Luckily I wasn't too far along with the Apricot coloring, otherwise it would have been difficult to switch to Cacao Silk. While the base coloring is the same with the two skin tones, they have totally different undertones, or "cloudwork" as I like to call it. But anywhoo, I got it all straightened out and boy is Sasha ever fabulous!

I opted for a clear brown skin tone, since Sasha is an older baby. She wears 0-3 months clothing, she is 22" long and she will weigh 6.5 pounds. She has full legs, 3/4 arms and a tummy/chest plate. She has onyx brown glass eyes and I am planning to give her super thick raven curls just like Kimani and Sarah Bella.

I am asking $2,950 shipped for Sasha. I will take a $1,800 down payment and ship Sasha immediately. Her mommy can pay the balance within 6 months. Once the balance is paid, I will send Sasha's Baby Shower In-A-Box. :)

Hola hola hola! Cassandra (sold) is my latest reborn baby from the Cianne sculpt by Romie Strydom. I know she looks practically identical to Kimani, another Cianne reborn I posted last year.  Kimani had swooped baby hair on her forehead, and Cassandra has a little fringe.  I thought I'd switch it up a bit. ;)

The Cianne sculpt is MUCHO popular and I never get tired of reborning her. I have two more Cianne kits stashed away for a rainy day. Cassandra is in the process of getting hair, so excuse her dingy hat, lol! :) I hope to finish up with her hair in a couple of days. This sculpt has a 15" head circumference, so I will be working hard over the weekend, lol! Cassandra will have pierced ears and the prettiest blue outfit. Stay tuned for her final photo shoot.

Kimani's been finished for weeks now. The weather has been terrible and I have not been able to catch any decent sunlight for a photo shoot, ugh! Summer please come back to meeeeeee *cries*. :) Anyway, Kimani's mom and I just agreed to ship her home without a photo shoot.  I am glad I was able to catch this particular photo of Kimani.  She is so pretty! Her face looks so incredibly lifelike!

Hola Amigos!  I would like to share this work in progress photo of my little Kimani.  She is the Cianne sculpt by Romie Strydom, and one of my most popular reborns to date!  :) Kimani is the doll I reborned for the Cinnamon Charm Winter tutorial video. I can see from this photo that Kimani's angel kiss needs tweaking as well as her painted baby hairs.  I will add the painting adjustments to the tutorial video.  I have the back of Kimani's head rooted and I am working my way around.  She has a big head, lol! :)  I hope to have Kimani finished up in a few days.

The real baby is gorgeous, huh? :) I love his cinnamon-colored skin and black hair. You all know I LOVE black hair! It is my favorite. The darker the better for me. I have no idea why some artists in the reborn doll community insist that real ethnic babies don't have black hair??? That is insane! Of course "they" do. I had a head full of black hair when I was born. I know because my mom cut a huge lock of my hair, and taped it inside my baby book. It is jet black and stick straight!  Oh and "they" have veins too, lol! That's another little "ethnic baby rumor" circulating the reborn doll community. Ridiculous! *rolling eyes* Well at least I am here to set the record straight. :)

Anyway, wow, I got totally off subject. Not surprising for a chatterbox like myself. ;) hehehe

I have had this real baby's photo for a very long time...like maybe three years? I'd forgotten just how much I loved sleeping reborn babies, and when I got my hands on the Cianne kit, I knew she'd be the one to use for this particular reference photo. I glanced at the photo during the beginning stages of Justice's creation, but knew I only wanted to copy the real baby's perimeter coloring and inner eye coloring. I freestyled the rest and I was perfectly fine with that. I knew I had to paint thicker brows and stronger t-zone coloring for the light to play with.  My daughter's t-zone is colored like Justice's, so I used a baby photo of my daughter for the t-zone.  I would like to experiment with some lighter flesh tones in the near future for visual texture on the forehead. All in good time! Growing as an artist doesn't happen overnight although I wish it did. Practice, practice, practice. ;) Thanks for reading!

Pre-ordering is not my favorite thing to do but I could not resist pre-ordering miss Porsha by Romie Strydom. Her face is so sweet! I was just so afraid she'd sell out like Romie's other LE kits. I am still sad about missing out on Bronwyn and Poppy.

Yep, you guessed it. I need both of them! Luna de Lange is begging to be reborned into a little boy dressed in Baby Gap, and Kelly Ann is my favorite type of kit...a sleeping baby girl with full lips.

I do *not* want to like any of the new kits. I still have my eye on several older kits that I have not yet had a chance to reborn. Barry, Noelle, Michelle, Angelina, Shyann, Kaelyn, Joyful Heart, Sugar, Elijah, Arianna, and Valentina are all waiting for makeovers. Not to mention my pre-ordered kits like Ava Raine and Trinity.

When will I have time to reborn them all? Well, you know what they say-- where there is a will, there is a way. *wink* I predict lots of painting and rooting in my future.

By the way, my Lotus is coming along great! I completed her buttery-tan base layers today. She sooooo cute! Yes, I am bragging. lol I will share pics of Lotus soon.
