Optional Vanilla Truffle Painting Techniques

Saturday, October 10, 2015

Hi everyone! For those of you who have the Vanilla Truffle coloring guide, I have a few tips I'd like to share. These tips are optional depending on the look you are going for, but while painting my three samples, I discovered that I like the Apricot Love-A-Lot crease color for Vanilla Truffle. Paint the creases using two layers of Vanilla Truffle's specified crease color mixture. When those two layers are complete, add a light layer of the Apricot Love-A-Lot crease color. Don't go crazy with the darker color, just a light layer will do the trick. Focus on the thigh rolls, eye creases and nose creases.

I also discovered that Vanilla Truffle looks awesome with two layers of the Starlight color for the entire nose. Starlight is the highlight color from the Apricot Love-A-Lot coloring guide. Purple capillaries on the eyelids were also a great detail. I created purple by mixing Phthalo Blue 02 and Crimson 01. Happy Painting!

$9 USD Vanilla Truffle Coloring Guide & Wintergrace Tutorial

Saturday, September 5, 2015

http://lmsweethearts.freewebspace.com/vanillatruffle.htm

Hello again, ladies! I forgot to post that I have a Vanilla Truffle coloring guide available. The Wintergrace Effect tutorial is included with this purchase because the Vanilla Truffle skin tone relies on Wintergrace. Like all of my coloring guides, the Vanilla Truffle coloring guide only tells what colors to use for the skin tone. It does not discuss placement. My tutorials tell artists where to specifically place these colors.

The Wintergrace portion of this bundle is only useful to those who have purchased the Prep, Neapolitan and Depth/Details tutorials. It won't mean much if you don't have these tutorials. :)  Click here to purchase the tutorials.

This is only an introductory price for this bundle. Once I complete the Vanilla Truffle babies (Danton and Ryana), the price will increase to $17 USD.

WIP *NEW* Vanilla Truffle Skin Tone!

Friday, August 28, 2015

So, like I said, Lexus and I sketched a plan on paper for our new Vanilla Truffle skin tone. This is an early progress photo but we are so excited to finally see this coloring on vinyl!

Vanilla Truffle represents the lightest AA skin tones that do not have the Apricot undertones like the Apricot Love-A-Lot skin tone. Our goal is for this skin tone to remain creamy with pretty caramel shadows and soft, pink blushing. I will post a picture of the final look soon. I am loving it so far!

This skin tone relies on the Wintergrace technique to cool down the apricot coloring. If there is enough interest, I will publish a Vanilla Truffle coloring guide and a tutorial add-on for the Wintergrace technique.

This baby will not be finished, she will be sold as a painted kit. The completed Vanilla Truffle baby won't be available until later this year.

We are also still working on our three Caucasian skin tones:

Tinkerblush (newborn)
Ginger Bisque (older peachy baby)
Kisses Like Cream (older rosey baby)

And our lovely Asian skin tone, Cherry Cheeks!

Stay tuned!
