Baby Gap Fashion & Lash Talk

Monday, December 26, 2011

This outfit pretty much has my name written all over it. Polka dots, kimono-style wrap top, footed pants, a bear applique, and a pink button? It had to have been made especially for me. The little Baby Gap fashion fairies can read my mind, lol! :) I ordered it in two sizes.

Zakari's lashes turned out great! I made a collage with the reference photos I used for the eyelashes. I dug up a few of my daughter Emme Jae's newborn photos. I saw how wispy and crooked her eyelashes were as a newborn, and it really surprised me-- seeing as how they are super straight now. She is 5 years-old. Anyway, here is the comparison collage of reborn Zakari and Emme:

They grow in quickly. ;) Anywhoo, time to give Zakari's eyes some baby tears. Ciao!

Lashes So Sweet & Infant Fashion

Sunday, December 25, 2011

I hope everyone is having a glorious Holiday! Our Christmas has been a blast so far. I am prepping for a vegan dinner party tonight at my mommy's house. Yum! ^_^

I wanted to share a pic I snapped of Zakari's eyelashes. I have rooted and sealed them, but they still need trimming. Sweetness much? I think so! :)

Why Are Baby Clothes So Cute?

I am still hunting for a yellow outfit that grabs me. I found this adorable set from a French manufacturer, Les Kinousses. I am in LOVE with their selections. European baby clothes are a weakness of mine. The best part? Les Kinousses accepts Paypal and ships to the States, yay!

I have so many items in my cart at Les Kinousses. Trust me, if you saw it, you would be in shock and possibly testify to have me committed, lol! The baby clothing addict inside of me is still alive and well. ;) I have to decide what I really need and delete some things. I will post my final selections here. Okay, time to eat.. ;) Sending holiday hugs and kisses to everyone!

Ping Lau's New Anming Kit

Friday, December 23, 2011

Photos courtesy of Doll Dreams

I am on holiday break until next year, so I have more time to blog. You know what that means, don't ya? I get to bore readers with progress photos, infant fashion and new kits! :) Prepare for the ride. ^_^

First up, Ping Lau's new kits are a dream come true for me. Ping has always been one of my favorite sculptresses.

Q: Why is Ping one of your favorite sculptors?

A: Because she can sculpt the heck out of a baby.

'Nuff said. ;)

When Zakari leaves, the sensible artist side of me knows I should finish a kit I have already started, but I am feeling a naughty streak. *insert super sneaky laughs here*

I have to start Anming. I just have to. I know I shouldn't because I literally have like 13 other kits in progress, but Anming is just the sweetest thing I have ever seen, omigosh! I am dying to add some definition to her face using my new Cocoa Gradient technique for eyes. I noticed Anming has a nice t-zone to work with. Thumbs up, Ping! :) You rock.

Anming (I think I will keep that name) of course will be Blasian. I feel another Q and A coming on:

Q: Why do you talk about and make so many Blasian babies?

A: Because my family is Blasian: Filipino, Cambodian, and "Black" (a mixture of Native American (Cherokee), Southwest African (Angolan), and European (English)).

'Nuff said, again, lol! :)

I would love to see some darker versions of Anming before I finish mine up. I know she will take a long time since I am such a slow poke reborner. C'mon ladies, I need some eye candy for my desktop.

Wardrobe choices for Anming coming right up. I told ya at the beginning of this post I would bore ya. ;)

Zakari's Almost Finished

Wednesday, December 21, 2011

It has been a long journey with this little guy. I almost put him into the "did not work out" bag. Can you believe that? LOL He was driving me crazy during his first phase of painting! We also had a minor set back in October. I erased an entire layer of paint and had to paint it over again. On top of that, my oven stopped working out of the clear blue, argggghh! Mom has been waiting since June for this little prince. I hope his beauty makes up for the wait. He is totally adorable. I love the Michelle sculpt. ♥

I still have a lot of work to do and I am sure I can finish up by Saturday. I have a blue outfit for Zakari, but picky me now wants something yellow, hehe. I love baby boys dressed in soft yellow.

Excuse the photos. The batteries in Lexus' camera were dying and it is a cloudy day. :( Double threat, lol. Anyway, more of Zakari coming soon.

Magnetic Bows from Slumberland!

Wednesday, December 14, 2011

I have been meaning to post about these amazing bows from Slumberland Nursery for quite a while. Aren't they purdy? :) They were sent as a gift with a mohair order and I am in love! I can't choose a favorite. The itty bitty magnets are perfect for hair bows! I have tried to make magnetic hair bows in the past with large flat magnets and it has never worked out. Slumberland will definitely be my "go to" place for magnetic hair bows. ;)

Thanks again, Ellen and crew! :)

Preemie Private Order by Lexus Ivy- *SOLD*

Wednesday, December 7, 2011

Hola amigos! Lexus and I have received so many inquiries about the bargain slots, so we decided to list a $550 ($275 deposit) slot for a sleeping preemie. Awake preemies will be an additional $50.00. These slots have been selling in record time, so hurry! ;) Here is the link:

http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=300634249096

This is the last slot before the price increase in January. Updated pricing will be posted on Lexus' blog on January 2, 2012.

UPDATE:

Some inquired about a final newborn slot, so I listed one. Lexus only wants to accept one more baby before the price increase, so one listing will be cancelled when the other sells. ;)

Newborn listing sold, thank you. :)

In Love with a Paint Brush

Tuesday, December 6, 2011

Yes, you read the title of the post correctly-- I am IN LOVE with a paint brush. Sad, but true. :) This particular brush is a cheapy cheap synthetic mop I purchased way back in 2004 from Michaels. I nicknamed it Moppy. hehe

I am so dependent on Moppy. Nothing compares to the honeycomb pattern it makes. I have tried sponges, other brushes, and even berry makers, but Moppy is pure magic.

Since Lexus moved in, she has been using Moppy, too. The magical bristles have her under their spell, and I totally understand. *hehe* The problem is there is only one Moppy. One Moppy and two artists. Lexus is using Moppy right now and I need to use Moppy. *pouts* I have been sitting waiting for two hours...

A little piece of advice ladies -- never become dependent on ONE paint brush. No, better yet, don't let your little artist sister move in and share your paint brushes. Yep, that's better advice, lol. :)

Until next time, folks...

Lexus Ivy's Blog

Lexus' portfolio is rapidly expanding, so I have created a blog for her. Her blog will mainly serve as a portfolio/photo gallery for her completed works because she has made several video blogs (vlogs) that she plans to post on her blog. She apparently prefers vlogging to blogging (ahhh...to be a teen again, lol!)

Anyway, it should be quite the fun place, lol. :) Here is a link:
