Optional Vanilla Truffle Painting Techniques

Saturday, October 10, 2015

Hi everyone! For those of you who have the Vanilla Truffle coloring guide, I have a few tips I'd like to share. These tips are optional depending on the look you are going for, but while painting my three samples, I discovered that I like the Apricot Love-A-Lot crease color for Vanilla Truffle. Paint the creases using two layers of Vanilla Truffle's specified crease color mixture. When those two layers are complete, add a light layer of the Apricot Love-A-Lot crease color. Don't go crazy with the darker color, just a light layer will do the trick. Focus on the thigh rolls, eye creases and nose creases.

I also discovered that Vanilla Truffle looks awesome with two layers of the Starlight color for the entire nose. Starlight is the highlight color from the Apricot Love-A-Lot coloring guide. Purple capillaries on the eyelids were also a great detail. I created purple by mixing Phthalo Blue 02 and Crimson 01. Happy Painting!

    1. Sure! Vanilla Truffle can definitely work for an olive Caucasian skin tone. :)
